No, we are not moving in. The question of the weekend has been when can we move into the house? Alok is still aiming for February. My mom said "February of what year." I'd like to hear your best guesses :-) (Seriously, maybe we'll start a move in date pool or something). I see no foreseeable date in site.
Anyway, our efforts are now becoming more focused in the apartment area of the house. Today consisted of all lot of troubleshooting and wallpaper scrapping. For instance, we realized that if we keep the staircase that was hidden and try to make it usable again, we will have a staircase that takes up about 6 feet of the room (or have stairs that are like 2 feet tall each, which I personally think would be entertaining). We're also trying to figure out what we want to do about the termite eaten floor, the massive window in the apartment bathroom, and whether to fix up the butlers pantry now since it is connected to the apartment or later when we redo the kitchen. We are also constantly talking about what we need to keep/repair/demolish. Today, the idea of just gutting everything was brought up again, but that should have started at the beginning. You live and learn.

That was about all for today. It may not seem like much, but a lot of that wallpaper is just impossible...partially because it's not wallpaper, it's mudded over/painted over wall. Here are some pics before we go:
See that thing in his hand? That was a light that he was wearing around his head in the daytime, but he removed it before I could get it in the picture.
Alex, who actually had her nose buried in this blanket for 99% of the day. I think she was giving us a hint.
