So, Alok has been working on the floors. I very suspiciously tried out this floor today:
The apartment bathroom
Here is the plywood waiting to go in:
Lookin' good
Anyway, if you recall, I have posted some pics of the lovely yard (if you can call it that). Much to the dismay of our neighbors, the outside of the house looks just about as bad as the inside. We had a volunteer (who I won't name unless he says I can!) volunteer to come over and work on the yard. We never could have guessed how much work that he put into it. Wow!!
Here is the before (remember that the actual length is hard to see in pics, but trust me, it's bad):
That is a broken lawnmover that a previous lawn guy ditched in our yard. You want it? Come by and pick it up. It's yours. Seriously. Just take it away!
Here is the after:
Grass at a reasonable length!
Alex checking it out
Nice! Even Alex agrees!
Better curb appeal
A very nice path carved out now in front of the flagstone
Pretty bush
Look at that! If we had water, bathrooms, or a sanitary place to prepare food, we'd have a BBQ ;-)
Much cleaner area over by the little pond....area!!
Notice the lawn mower is missing. It's only been there since November (literally). No worries. It's still on the driveway if anyone wants it (again, serious here. Take it).
Even our trash piles got cleaned up. We have someone who comes and takes the lathe every few days
Pretty flower. What is it and is it poisonous (everything poisonous to dogs has to come out prior to move in).
Same question with this. What is it?
Cleaned up path around here that will allow for some good landscaping.... now back to the argument about pool vs. no pool. We had agreed on no and now he wants to keep it. Yuck. I say a little flower garden or something?
Even the planters with dead plants in them got a make over!
A little bird told me that there is more to come. Unbelievable! We can't thank him enough!! (I'm sure the neighbors are happy as well).

The pinkish/red flower is a peony and its not poisonous... they are an heirloom plant so it works well with the home! The tall weird thing next to the peonies is a weed. It also looks like you have some hosta and lily of the valley (neither are poisonous). If the basement miraculously gets finished early, we'd love to make a weekend trip down to help! Kyle's great with electric!
