First, the plea from a pregnant woman must have worked. Sorry for the guilt friends and family, but it was worth it. We got a lot done and should be set to start moving in stuff ASAP (actually, it's already begun). We'll see if the full transitions happens prior to the baby, but if it doesn't, we should about be there.
Second, thanks to everyone who came out. Our friends Eric, Kelley, Casey, and Missy came, we've had a few offers from friends who couldn't come this weekend, my parents were there, and Alok's bosses even came! I think they deserve an award for that one!
I didn't make it to the house today because I can barely move.... literally. These pictures are from the end of the day on Saturday. I hear there was a lot more complete today though. Here they are:
The apartment area. All clean with doors hung/polyd that go to the basement, bath, and closet. What was funny is that I wanted Alok to hang the door to the bathroom so I didn't have to walk upstairs to go to the bathroom. He nicely did that, but there was about a 2 inch gap around the side while we await for trim ;-)
Clean, new floors
New door to the basement
Media area with surround sound re-hooked up
Apartment area into the butler's pantry
Butler's pantry, apartment bathroom ahead with a door
Clean apartment bath
Clean rest of the apartment.
The kitchen also got a huge cleaning makeover thanks to my mom, Vicki, Missy, and Kelley. Here it was at the end of the day Saturday, although I hear it's even cleaner today:
We also unpacked most of the kitchen items. Woo hoo! I know it doesn't look like much, but since we started the day with about 8 inches of dust and 20 boxes in the kitchen, it's a pretty big deal.
My mom also worked on cleaning up the dining room area, which was made possible by Terrell and Casey's moving help.
Dining room
Living room sans the saws, a lot of wood, etc
Living room with the window wells covered temporarily! Much better!
Casey hard at work... ;-)
The yellow bedroom (OK, it's no longer yellow) was also assembled and cleaned. Here it is (guests, here is where you would stay):
That is a really massive headboard. It was so big that we couldn't fit it on the other wall.
That's all for now!!
