With the exception of the very small bathroom under the stairs, all of the rooms on the first floor that we are re-doing are now (the only rooms we're leaving downstairs are the kitchen and parlor for now).
Alok has been hard at work tearing things down, as you can see by this full dumpster:
Here is the progress:
Foyer
Ceiling in the living room
Dining room
Dining room ceiling- he just did this
What the heck is going on with these pipes in the dining room ceiling? I believe they are to the hallway bathroom upstairs. This picture didn't quite capture it.
A ton of old gas lines in the dining room ceiling
Fridge is now in the kitchen (this was in the butler's pantry)
Butler's pantry minus a wall and a ceiling. You are now looking through the bathroom into the family room area in the apartment.

Of course, with tearing down the ceiling, we found more mold:
Mmmmmm........
View from the apartment hall into the butler's pantry. The wall around the radiator ahead needs to come off but he needs to disconnect it. See that light through the wall? That goes straight outside, but is now covered by water resistant shield since we have no siding.

For those of you who prefer video, here it is:
One thing Alok discovered is that the pocket doors won't work because the walls around them have collapsed in a bit. Here is the picture (although, I'm not completely sure what he's talking about)
Now, to fix this, we have to tear down the walls and re-do them. I say, let's do it!
