Chris and I had a giant tree removed a few years ago...We called 4 people, the cheapest price? $1000. Then the next year we had to remove the other. Granted it was a giant tree. Still, do you know the guys that remove them turn around and sell them to a lumber mill for a nice profit?
We had a couple estimates on a tree in our front yard that lost a branch in October that went through our roof (thankfully new insurance paid-for roof)...we kept the tree...for now...but cheapest estimate was $2000 for full removal! The tree makes me very nervous during every storm now, so we may end up getting rid of it at some point!

ReplyDeleteAnd when it came down we thought there was an earthquake.
ReplyDeleteJust wait for a big storm. =)
ReplyDeleteThanks! We did wait for a storm. Unfortunately, it took down 1/2 the tree and 1/2 of another.
