Well not just the kitchen.... the outside is moving along too:

Not too shabby.  It's starting to make the house look a little less abandoned (well, just a little)

Of course, when work is going on in the kitchen, you have random sinks in the apartment:

(OK, so they aren't random. They are the old kitchen sinks).

Here is Alok working on the countertops over two days.  First, laying them and then second, routing the edges.  

Here he is using his weird, fancy, blue tool to lay them:

Here he is, explaining to me a trick about using a window shade so that something doesn't stick together.... I have no clue what he is talking about, but it did allow him to lay the countertop by himself, whatever the magical trick was.

After laying them, he had the fun job of routing the edges.  Here he is on a lunch break, coated in saw dust (which is why he is doing this now, before we move in):

And, of course, there are always mistakes.  Here is the area that is now green again after some sort of chipping error.
