Yesterday on my way home from work, I got a call from my lovely husband. He decided to go ahead and install the stove himself. He said that he got the gas lines hooked up (does this concern anyone else?), moved the stove himself, started to slide it into the opening and heard a loud thud. He didn't know if it was a pipe or what it was. It turns out that the specs that are provided on the stove for the width don't count the lovely top that has the clock, etc on it. So, in other words, his space was about an inch too short to fit the stove.
My first response was to call Home Depot and get a new stove. He said that is what he thought that he would too and said that he was about to "loose his s$%#," which was actually kind of amusing (sorry, Alok, but I've never heard him say that before). Then, he calmed down and decided to do the following: remove his lovely backsplash, cut out part of the wall, put back in his lovely backsplash, move the stove.
He didn't loose his s%^& (or if he did, I didn't hear about it) and voila! About 5 hours later here it is:
One more thing down on the list that never ends. It's just too bad that it took about 5 hours longer than expected, but as Tim Gunn says, "make it work."
