We now have 2 that work! GASP! The plumbing is still in progress, but is really exciting. Now, we don't have doors yet, but hey, baby steps.
Here they are!
Bathroom under the stairs (aka, home of the toilet known as Yazoo):
Apartment bath (aka the area formerly known as the apartment...it was an apartment but isn't now. I understand that there is some confusion):
Someone also found the kitchen table! It's almost like a usable house:
The plumbers are working on finishing the bathroom under the stairs, and finishing the kitchen, laundry room (at least the washer/dryer), and also the attic bathroom. They should be done tomorrow. Exciting!!!!!
Apparently, I am 2 days off. July 23, 2010 was actually the date that we closed on the house. It is also the date that I posted this:
"I can't wait to see what other surprises we find." (This was a sarcastic reference to a surprise mold filled closet). Oh, poor innocent Jessica. Little did I know.... little did I know....
Sigh.
Before you get lost in this Mega-Blog, you can be a part of having us get ready to move in the house so that we can actually live in this house. We are having a PATEL HOUSE WORK DAY on August 4 at 9am (but you can come anytime). There will be things for all skills levels (just no kids... too many health hazards) and interests and you can come anytime. Drinks and food will be provided :-)
Anyway, enough of that. Here is a review of our progress on the house. Starting with when we walked through/closed on the house, followed by our house at one year and now this year. Here it is:
Front of the house
(Some of these have our new roof... I apparently didn't get a complete before on some of them)

July 2011-ish (we didn't have a picture from before of this area, but this is
right when we started in the apartment; the closet on the left is the
one that contained the staircase to go up):
