The heat is on!

November 3, 2010

Look what we got today:

A new gas furnace! The good news is that we'll never have to use the massive, old formerly coal-burning boiler. The bad news is it only heats the downstairs, but hey, that should work, right? (This could be an interesting winter!). We ended up going with Bruening on this. So far, so good.

In other news, the painting continued. We painted these posts outside:

Wow, these are really blue...... I think they go well with the hunter green trim, don't you?

This area around the front window also continued to be worked on:

That's primer, not the final paint color

As did the area by the front door:

Close up by the front door- new trim

Moving on inside, we worked on painting the siding/other trim. Here it is:

Alok touching things up on the drying rack

Close up of the trim.... this is more navy-ish (the color is what you saw on the painted posts outside)

Plain trim drying

Our work area has expanded

Close-up on the siding. You can't really see the color here, but it's a light, blue-gray.

We also enjoyed a nice dinner at the house. Here it is:

Love that clean kitchen and well-kempt cook (shockingly, I actually cooked, she transported and reheated)

(BTW, I had to dump olive oil on my hair this morning to get the oil-based paint out of it. That was fun).

That's all for now.
